#Former #Bountiful #High and #Utah #State star #Sam #Merrill has played in just four NBA games in his young career for the #Milwaukee #Bucks, but he’s already set an NBA all-time record.
#On #Tuesday night as the #Bucks played the #Miami #Heat, #Merrill hit what was #Milwaukee’s 28th 3-pointer of the game, which was a new mark for most treys ever made by a team in a single contest, besting the 27 the #Houston #Rockets hit against the #Phoenix #Suns in #April of last year.
#With 6:10 remaining in the game #Tuesday night, #Merrill pulled up a few feet behind the 3-point line, rose up and sank the shot. #It was his only shot attempt of the contest, although he played nine minutes in the fourth quarter as the #Bucks had the game in hand and ultimately won by a whopping 47 points.
#Milwaukee made one more 3 on the night, a shot by #Bryn #Forbes, to set the new all-time mark at 29.
The 60th pick of the NBA draft last month, #Merrill has played mostly garbage time minutes so far for the #Bucks, although he has gotten in every game so far. #Not only that, but he is perfect from beyond the arc, having made all four of his attempts (which account for all of his 12 points so far).
#He did miss one shot on #Christmas #Day against the #Golden #State #Warriors.
#In all, #Merrill has played 29 minutes this season. #Beside the 12 points, he has tallied eight rebounds, seven assists and a steal.
