  • The #National #Weather #Service warned of the arrival of a cold front in #Texas with rain and snow.
  • #State highways during the last two days of the year could have flash floods.
  • The #Texas #Department of #Public #Safety asks drivers to exercise extreme caution on the roads against possible storms and snowfall.

#Authorities in #Texas are on high alert for a warning of storms and snowfall that can cause chaos on the roads.

#According to the #National #Meteorological #Center (NWS), a cold front will hit #Texas this #Wednesday, #December 30, and will continue during the last two days of the year.

The various police corporations have asked the population to take extreme precautions when taking the roads on their trip to visit family and friends on the #New #Year’s #Eve.

#For areas in #North #Texas, above I-10, the NWS warns that there may be snowfall, which will cause bridges to freeze, with the effect called ‘#Black #Ice’, which covers imperceptibly ice the asphalt.

#According to the NWS, the thermometers will drop severely and during #December 30 and 31 the temperature will remain at 40 degrees #Fahrenheit maximum, so it is recommended that people bundle up.

The brigades of workers from the #Texas #Department of #Transportation (TXDOT, for its acronym in #English) have already begun preparing the bridges, placing anti-skid substances, to prevent accidents in the rain and snow.

#In the city of #Odessa, in #West #Texas and almost on the border with #New #Mexico, the NWS warned that residents could see 2 to 10 inches of snow fall from #Thursday, so they asked the population to stay alert.
