Nurse tests positive for Covid-19 more than a week after receiving Pfizer vaccine


A 45-year-old nurse tested positive for #Covid-19 in #California more than a week after receiving the vaccine coronavirus of #Pfizer and #BioNTech, an ABC #News affiliate reported.

#Matthew W., a nurse at two different local hospitals, said in a #Facebook post on #December 18 that he had received the pfizer vaccine, telling the ABC #News affiliate that his arm was sore one day, but that he suffered no further side effects.

#Six days later, on #Christmas #Eve, he fell ill after working a shift in the unit of the #Covid-19, #According to the report. #He felt chills and then began to suffer from muscle aches and fatigue.

#He was tested in a hospital and tested positive for coronavirus the day after #Christmas, according to the report.

#Christian #Ramers, an infectious disease specialist at #Family #Health #Centers in #San #Diego, told the ABC #News affiliate that this possibility was not unexpected.

“#We know from clinical trials of the vaccine that it will take 10 to 14 days to start developing protection with the vaccine,” #Ramers said.

“#We think that first dose gives you about a 50% and you need a second dose to get to 95%“he added.
