Four people, including three teenagers, were killed in an accident on a federal road in southern Bavaria on Wednesday afternoon. Police said a truck and a car collided on the B17 near Denklingen, southwest of Munich. The cause of the accident was initially unclear.
According to police, the car came onto the oncoming lane of the three-lane federal highway for an undisclosed reason and collided head-on with an oncoming semi-trailer. All four victims were still dead at the scene of the accident.
The Oberbayern Nord Police Department said the dead were a 49-year-old woman, her two daughters, aged 12 and 14, and a 14-year-old acquaintance. The 58-year-old truck driver suffered a shock and was taken to hospital. The B17 was completely closed after the accident. A large contingent of fire and rescue services, including two rescue helicopters, were on duty.
