In early June, Samsung announces the third model of the 2020 vintage in the Galaxy A range. This is the Galaxy A41 which naturally takes the place of the Galaxy A40. A refreshed version of a pleasant entry-level model.
Just over a year after the release of the Samsung galaxy a40, the South Korean company endows it with a successor. Naturally baptized Galaxy A41, it is the third model of the family to be released in 2020, after a Galaxy A51 and one Galaxy A71.
A pleasant update on paper
If the Galaxy A41 takes over from the A40, it does not rest on the laurels of the latter. Indeed, the model seems to take back what made the strength of its ancestor, while updating it. In fact, the smartphone gains a little in size and offers a 6.1-inch Super Amoled display (compared to 5.9 inches on the A40). The definition increases (2,400 x 1,080 pixels), as does the ratio which increases to 20: 9. The only unchanged element of this screen is the teardrop-shaped notch, which still houses a 25-megapixel front sensor.
Inside, the South Korean firm chooses not to use its in-house platform and prefers to rely on MediaTek. The Helio P65, a processor unveiled almost a year ago, was chosen. This chip is quite rare, except on a majority of Chinese smartphones. The Galaxy A41 is therefore the first in France to offer it. As on the previous model, 4 GB of RAM is allocated, with 64 GB of storage. The battery capacity is greater, going from 3,100 mAh to 3,500 mAh. The ability to charge quickly at 15 W has been retained.
On the back, the A41 gains an additional sensor. We discover a main module of 48 megapixels coupled with an ultra wide-angle module of 8 megapixels and a depth module of 5 megapixels. The latter is the novelty of this mobile; tests will tell if it proves necessary. Perhaps it would have been better to place a macro module, as is the case with other manufacturers.
The Samsung Galaxy A40 knew how to seduce us, but suffered from rather fierce competition. Its photo part was unfortunately not up to the proposal. So let’s hope that Samsung has been able to correct the few flaws in its smartphone, on pain of the A41 being overwhelmed by the many players present in the segment for less than € 300.
The Samsung Galaxy A41 should be released in the coming days at an unknown price, but which should probably be the same as the A40 when it is released.
