The number of hospitalizations decreased by 19

The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19 in Quebec show 164 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 59,312. During this same period, 1 new death was recorded, for a total of 5,674.

The number of hospitalizations fell by 19, reaching a total of 189. Of these, 15 are in intensive care, a decrease of 3. The samples taken on July 29 amounted to 17,190 for a total of 1,220,509.

A transfer from the V10 data source to the Trajectoire de sante publique information system (TSP) was carried out on July 27. Some adjustments stem from this transition and corrections to the number of confirmed cases had to be made for July 29. Indeed, the data released yesterday should have reported 139 new cases (rather than 122).

On the Lanaudiere side, there have been 7 new cases since yesterday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,497. No new deaths have been recorded.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, the following measures are always recommended:

• wash your hands frequently with soap and water, for 20 seconds, especially when arriving from outside;

• disinfect your hands with an alcohol-based solution if you do not have access to soap or water;

• for any gathering in a private indoor or outdoor place, respect the maximum of 10 people. It is strongly recommended that these come from a maximum of 3 different addresses;

• limit movement as much as possible.

It should be noted that wearing a face cover is now compulsory for people 12 years of age and over in most public places that are closed or partially covered, as well as on public transport.
