After the damage caused by Hurricane “Hanna”, former President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa criticized that current President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador did not use the presidential plane to visit the inhabitants affected in Reynosa by this natural disaster.

Also, through his Twitter account, Calderon assured that the federal government left the budget of the Natural Disaster Fund at “zero” (The Fund), which, with the argument of addressing the pandemic, the 4T government had proposed to disappear.

In recent days, Lopez Obrador had declared: “maybe I get on the plane to learn about life before the change”; However, that Monday in a press conference he announced that he would not get on better.

Sources close to the President affirm that said decision is due to the fact that the President said in campaign and already as head of the federal Executive that “Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon” would not go up for anything in the world, so doing so would have brought him criticism for not having kept his promise.

Regarding the Fonden, in May this year, the head of the Executive confirmed that it would continue to exist, but with an amount that will be handled with discipline and scrupulously, in the face of questions about its disappearance.

“Regardless of what happens, attention is a priority for the government of Mexico, and for this government in particular, attention to emergencies and disasters, there will be a sufficient budget to do so,” declared the President.
