Stuttgart – When the corona pandemic arrived in Germany last March, football fans across the country, in many places, showed their solidarity and started relief efforts. So also at VfB Stuttgart. The ultras from “Schwabensturm 02” initiated a large-scale aid campaign in the region. Under the motto “Helping Together 0711”, donations were collected and aid was offered to those in need and interested.
From our plus offer: With the Ultras at the discounter
More than 10,000 euros have been raised in this fundraising campaign in the past few months, most recently donations in kind were made for football youth departments of smaller clubs. Organized shopping aids were also a great success, as the Ultras now report on their homepage after the campaign has ended. “Spread over 18 weeks or 124 days, we were able to help a large number of people affected in the Stuttgart urban area and the districts of Rems-Murr, Esslingen, Ludwigsburg and Boblingen. Almost 120 volunteers took part in this, who took on one or more orders and were able to hand over food and medication to the respective front doors, ”says the message.
A total of 500 inquiries were submitted to the organizers in the period from March 17 to July 19, 2020 via the switched hotlines, which corresponds to an average of just under 28 assistance per week. All could be distributed and taken care of.
One now looks back “more than satisfied with what has been achieved so far” and believes that we have launched this offer. The fundraiser continues until this Sunday, 2 p.m. If you want to participate, you can do so here via PayPal donation pool.
