PSG played a game again after a long Corona break and even played directly in front of spectators.

At their first appearance in four months and in front of almost 5000 spectators, the French series champion Paris Saint Germain started the preparation for the Champions League final tournament with an easy win. The team of coach Thomas Tuchel easily won 9: 0 (5: 0) at second division AC Le Havre. Among other things, the Brazilian superstar Neymar met twice. World champion Kylian Mbappe, also goal scorer, wrote Instagram full of euphoria: “It is true, we are back!”

The game was the first since March in a country of the top 5 leagues in Europe (Germany, England, France, Spain and Italy) to take place in front of spectators. The number of spectators was limited according to the regulations of the French government, the tickets were sold out within a few minutes. To protect against infection, fans had to keep their distance and wear masks during the game.

For Tuchel, after the long corona break, it was a matter of getting his star ensemble fit for the final tournament of the premier class in Lisbon. In the quarterfinals, PSG will face Atalanta Bergamo on August 12th.

At least in the national cup finals, Paris can still play. On July 24, the capital’s club meets AS St. Etienne, a week later Olympique Lyon is waiting for the final league cup final. The competition will be abolished next season. Lyon also has hopes of taking part in the tournament in Lisbon, but OL must first contest the round of 16 second leg at Juventus on August 7 (first leg: 1-0).

France had abandoned its season as the only top European league without replacement and had chosen PSG as champion.
