Kim Clijsters claimed her fourth victory at World Team Tennis, a team tournament held in White Sulfur Springs in the United States. The former world number 1 won 5-2 against American Sloane Stephens (WTA 37), winner of the 2017 US Open, on Friday.
On Tuesday, the Limburg native had won her first match since her return to competition against Sofia Kenin (WTA 4) before taking over Bernarda Pera (WTA 60) on Wednesday and Danielle Collins (WTA 51) on Thursday.
Facing Stephens, Clijsters played their third game of the day. In the mixed doubles with Neal Skupski, she managed to win (5-4) against Rajeev Ram and Bethanie Mattek-Sands. In the women’s doubles, she had to replace Kveta Peschke alongside Sabine Lisicki, with a 5-2 defeat against Mattek-Sands and Eugenie Bouchard.
On Saturday, Clisjters and his New York Empire team will face the Springfield Lasers.
