It was an emotional meeting with members of the Cuban medical brigades that returned from Andorra, Nicaragua and Antigua and Barbuda, added the president, who met with the groups that returned to the island several weeks ago after helping to confront the disease caused. by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

“Our health personnel go to the world to support, to provide solidarity, with a personal, collective commitment, a commitment to patriotism that for them is inexplicable because it is a sentiment that is above the nature of the empire,” said the head of State, who was accompanied by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero.

Diaz-Canel met on Monday morning with the 52 members of the Henry Reeve brigade (specialized in disaster situations and major epidemics) who returned from the three countries.

He expressed respect and affection to them on behalf of the people, the government, and the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raul Castro.

The group carried out more than 67,600 medical services, assisted in the recovery of 870 patients, saved 119 people and trained 1,792 health workers.
