The number of new cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants also continues to increase. For the period spanning two weeks, and until July 24 inclusive, 30.2 cases were identified (against a count of 26.96 the day before).
The number of infections in Belgium now stands at 66,428. That’s 402 more than the 66,026 infections Sciensano reported on Monday. The number of hospital admissions also increased with an average of 18.1 admissions per day, an increase of 76%
Regarding mortality, a decrease is observed of 24% in the daily average, or about 2.3 deaths per day. In all, 9,822 people have lost their lives as a result of Covid-19 in Belgium.
