FGR requests arrest of former Federal Police officials


The General Prosecutor of the Republic (FGR) asked a Control judge, based in Almoloya, State of Mexico, to issue arrest warrants against 19 former officials who worked during the senator’s administration for the PRI, Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, in the Ministry of the Interior, in the administration of Enrique Pena Nieto.

Among the accused are the former secretary general of the defunct Federal Police, Frida Martinez Zamora, close to Osorio Chong, and the former secretary of Citizen Security of Mexico City, Jesus Orta Martinez, who also served as general secretary of the PF, between 2012 and 2014, the office in charge of managing the corporation’s economic resources, and as general director of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, federal sources reported.

The FGR links them to the alleged diversion of more than 2 billion pesos from the item of Public and National Security Expenditures, detected in various audits carried out by the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF).

Regarding these alleged acts of corruption, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection submitted the corresponding complaints to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).

Also named are Carlos Hipolito Rivera Codina, Eleuterio Enrique Perez Romero, Everardo Guzman Linares, Federico Emilio Metzger Sanchez Armas, Francisco Javier Cruz Rojas, Osvaldo Martinez Hernandez, Leonel Ignacio Orozco Padilla, Leopoldo Martinez Escamilla, Ramon Jesus Sanchez Canedo, Jorge Carlos Ruiz Alavez , Édgar Ulises Calderon Luna, Israel Luna Espinosa, Jose Manuel Correa Flores, Maria Eldy Sosa Calderon, Veronica Tlahuitzo Perez, Carmen Patricia Quinones Pina, and Mercedes Hernandez Rodriguez, for the alleged diversion of public resources.
