    Czech hockey player Dominik Kubalik was the main character of Saturday's duel of the preliminary round of the NHL playoffs between Chicago and Edmonton.  With two goals and three assists in his very first match in the playoffs of the world's most famous hockey competition, he decided to win the Blackhawks 6: 4.

The gala performance of the Pilsen native started in the first period, when he participated in three of Chicagos four goals with assists.

The twice-hot candidate for Calder’s trophy for the best rookie of the season was charged by the scoring Jonathan Toews from behind the goal, and once the event played by the Czech hockey player, Brandon Saad, who was rejoicing, rejoiced.

Edmonton, who at the beginning of the match sent Connor McDavid into the lead, managed to reduce Draisaitl at the beginning of the second period, but then the Czech winged flash shone again, returning a three-goal lead in a power play with a shot under Chicagos top bar.

Two minutes before the end of the second period, Chicago played another power play and the former Pilsen player was able to run a Duncan Keith shot from the blue line. Finnish goalkeeper Mikko Koskinen was already standing between the three poles, replacing Mike Smith after Kubalik’s first goal.

With this shot, Kubalik broke Steve Larmer’s club record, who managed to score four points in one playoff match during his rookie season.

At the same time, according to NBC, it is also a record for the entire competition, as no player in the entire long history of the NHL has collected five points in their debut in the playoffs.

In the third period, Edmonton managed to reduce to 4: 6 with two more goals, but there was no sensational turnaround, so Chicago took the lead in the preliminary round of the playoffs, played for three winning matches.

The next game in the series is played again on Tuesday night in Edmonton, which together with Toronto is hosting the final NHL tournament.
