Remember. Around June 15, an Amazon page had toured the web. The latter set the release date of the PS5 to November 20, 2020 for a price of € 499.99 for the version with Blu-Ray reader, and € 399.99 for the digital version. However, the dealer quickly reported that it was a fake and therefore should not be paid attention.
Since then, Sony has still not officially communicated on this subject while the launch of pre-orders seems more imminent than ever. However, to believe a leak once again from Amazon, the release of the PS5 could well be set for Tuesday, November 17, 2020. In any case, this is what the meta-description of the site indicates when performing the search “Amazon PS5 pre-order” on Google. We would like to thank Guillaume Mougin, one of our readers, for pointing this out to us.
If as always, this information should be taken with a grain of salt for the moment, the fact is that this data appears in black and white via a simple search that can be done by any Internet user. The Amazon link, which leads to a PS5 page where the date does not appear, is however indeed official. Everything leads to believe that this is therefore an error made by the reseller, who provided certain data in advance.
Note also that it can be surprising to see a new console released on a Tuesday instead of a Friday. However, this remains more than plausible in the sense that several models of consoles have been released on a Tuesday during the past two decades. On the PlayStation side, the PS3 Slim was launched on Tuesday 1is September 2009 in most countries while the PS3 Super Slim was released on Tuesday September 25, 2012 in the United States.
On the side of Microsoft, we also find a similar phenomenon in recent years with the release of the Xbox One S on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, or that of the Xbox One X on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Another detail supporting the plausibility of On such a date, we now know that games accompanying the launch of the next-gen are due out during that week. This is for example the case of Assaassin’s Creed Valhalla, precisely scheduled for November 17, or Cyberpunk 2077 which will arrive on November 19.
There are therefore many signs that have been going in the same direction for several weeks. Now we have to wait for official confirmation from Sony, which generally refuses to comment on the rumors. Although this has not yet been confirmed, it would appear according to journalist Jeff Grubb that a new State of Play will be organized between August 5 and 11. Perhaps we will have the answer then.
As a reminder, the PlayStation 5 is expected at a date still undetermined for the end of 2020.
