LThe Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) placed the whole of Belgium on yellow alert this Friday in anticipation of thunderstorms likely to erupt throughout the day and mainly during the afternoon. The IRM specifies that thunderstorms are expected over all regions in the afternoon.

The cloudiness will become variable to sometimes abundant this Friday with, gradually, the development of thunderstorms. During the afternoon, the downpour activity will increase and locally there will be a risk of a lot of precipitation in a short time, predicts the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM). In the evening and overnight, a few showers will still be possible before the return of generally dry weather with broad clearings over most areas. At the end of the night, mists and low clouds may form in places. Nighttime temperatures will finally be pleasant everywhere, with minimums between 14ºC in the Hautes Fagnes and 19ºC in the plains.

On Saturday, the cloudiness will be variable with some showers during the day. A thunderstorm will remain possible. The maximum will be between 24 and 27ºC.

The mercury will go up a notch on Sunday with maximums of 24 or 25ºC at the Coast to locally 30ºC in Campine.
