The spread of the Covid-19 pandemic is not weakening in Morocco. The number of people declared cured has, for its part, increased by 37% (from 8,919 to 12,254), while the number of deaths fell by 13%, from 250 to 217 during the same period, we read on a detailed report published by the ministry.
The total number of cases since the first case was reported on March 2 has risen to 88,203. The total of people recovered rose to 68,970, a cure rate of 78.2%, said the document from the Department of Health. Regarding the case fatality rate, it rose to 1.8% with the recording of a total of 1,614 deaths when the incidence rate rose to 243 / 100,000 inhabitants. The latter rate has increased rapidly since the beginning of September, the representative of the ministry also indicated.
In more detail, the ministry says the death toll, after mid-August, reached more than 200 cases per week. Figures which rank Morocco 38th globally and third at African level in terms of contamination. The Kingdom is also ranked 44th in the world and fourth in Africa in terms of deaths. Regarding the frequency of testing, Morocco is placed 32nd globally and second in Africa, says the ministry.
