He noted that the Sinadef has an accurate and modern record of those who died from any cause. He explained that in August a peak of 6,818 deaths per week was reached for all reasons.
“We are in five consecutive weeks with figures in decline permanently. The general trend is positive, we ask the authorities not to lower their guard ”, he stressed.
He argued that the fight against the pandemic begins to give the results that the Executive expects. “In recent weeks, the number of hospitalized, cases and deaths in Lima and in regions has decreased,” he reiterated.
“In the last month, with a lot of effort from the health system and from all Peruvians, we increased hospital beds. For the first time since the start of the pandemic, we have more beds available than occupied. Of the total, to date we have 9,626 occupied beds and 9,654 free beds ”, he reported.
Vizcarra Cornejo indicated that the challenge is to ensure that the reduction in the figures continues to decline in a sustained manner. “During five weeks the indicators have improved,” he said.
