The team has decided: Thomas Raffl remains captain of the EC Red Bull Salzburg. The 34-year-old striker has been in Salzburg since 2010 (with a one-year break in North America) and was entrusted with this responsible position for the first time last season.
The Red Bulls goalgetter enjoys the full trust of his team-mates and is pleased to continue to lead the team with his experience and his will to win: “This is a great honor for me. Especially when things are like ours, where the captain is determined by the team. I am happy that my teammates trust me and I will perform accordingly. I want to set a good example for the team and help them develop. ”
Thomas Raffl is supported by his assistant captains Dominique Heinrich (30), who, as a long-time high performer in Salzburg, has been wearing the A on his chest since last season, and by Derek Joslin (33), who only received Red Bull Munich from EHC last season came to the Red Bulls and, having previously spent a year in Sweden’s SHL and a total of five years in the PENNY DEL, was able to pass on a lot of ice hockey knowledge to younger colleagues.
Connor Brickley and Brent Regner, on the other hand, have to say goodbye for good, with both professionals no longer being planned in Salzburg. Brent Regner has played in Salzburg for the last two years, was a reliable defender and also assistant captain of the Red Bulls last season. Connor Brickley joined the Red Bulls last season and was the Red Bulls’ third top scorer when the season ended.
The Red Bulls would like to thank both players for their commitment in Salzburg and wish them all the best in their private and professional lives.
