The crash problem with certain models of the Geforce RTX 3080 is forcing more and more manufacturers to comment. Now Zotac has also spoken out on his Malaysian Facebook page and at times announced a rather unusual action as compensation.

After more and more user reports in the past week brought to light a wide range of problems with crashes in certain models of the new Geforce RTX 3080, which are apparently related to the installed capacitors, some manufacturers have already taken a more and sometimes less informative position. For example, EVGA recently suspected the cause of the POSCAPs design at the weekend, while MSI had only speculated about a possible driver problem.

Now Zotac has also spoken out in a post that has been deleted, which was published on the company’s own Facebook presence in Malaysia and announced that the problem with the Geforce RTX 3080 is being investigated, and there will be news about this shortly. Zotac’s custom design in the form of the Geforce RTX 3080 Trinity was one of the first named models with said problems and is also mentioned most frequently.

Moon cake as comfort

Affected buyers can therefore contact the manufacturer using an online form in order to be contacted personally about the matter. Nonetheless, in cooperation with the Malay IT distributor Sun Cycle Malaysia, the victims are said to be sent a moon cake as compensation, which is a baked product from traditional Chinese cuisine that is also popular in Malaysia.

In fact, the said online form with the required details of address, serial number and Co. also holds out the prospect of the moon cake. In addition to the Geforce RTX 3080, the Trinity version of the RTX 3090 is also named as a possible problem. However, since Zotac’s announcement is no longer available, the manufacturer may be preparing for a better statement. Sun Cycle Malaysia is meanwhile continuing to offer the baked goods on Facebook for its own affected customers.
