Paris – The abbreviation PSE stands for Peugeot Sport Engineered – and for the first time a new vehicle from the lion brand, namely the 508 PSE, is featured. The French created it especially to celebrate, namely as a visible reference to the 210 years of existence of the company. With the 508 PSE, they will bring the “most powerful series Peugeot of all time” onto the market, equipped with a petrol unit and two electric motors, which stand for a system output of 360 PS and a maximum torque of 520 Newton meters. The all-wheel drive – represented as a sedan and as a station wagon – accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds, from 80 to 120 km / h in three seconds and only regulates at a top speed of 250 km / h.

Thanks to the use of a lithium-ion battery, the vehicle can travel up to 42 kilometers purely on electricity; the standard consumption is 2.03 liters per 100 kilometers; the CO2 emissions are consequently 46 grams per kilometer. In order to achieve such values, however, it is mainly necessary to use it on short journeys with frequent charging of the battery.

Five different driving modes characterize the 508 PSE, they range from Electric to Comfort and Hybrid to Sport and 4WD. By the way, the model drives purely electrically up to 140 km / h, the sport setting, on the other hand, changes the response of the steering, shock absorbers and accelerator response. Peugeot is expecting the first orders for the model produced in Mulhouse (France) in the autumn, and the first deliveries are expected in spring 2021. The prices have not yet been determined.
