The NFL completely mishandled the Dwayne Haskins situation

#Dwayne #Haskins is now a free agent. The #Washington #Football team released the second-year player after violating NFL protocol and what many have labeled as outward selfish behavior.

#Chris #Russell, the host of #Locked #On #Washington #Football #Team, agreed that #Haskins had many faults to blame but that the NFL put the franchise in a tougher situation than what was needed.

#Russell: I was mad at the NFL for allowing him to practice and be around his teammates despite multiple tests a day when clearly the virus could incubate for three to five days and not show up on tests because I do not think if #Dwayne #Haskins would have turned up positive last week and then infected or was in close contact with others, I do not think the NFL would have cut them a break. #But yet, they allowed him in the building, and they allowed him at practice. #Think about that. A lot of the criticism of #Ron #Rivera could have been mitigated if the NFL should not have allowed #Dwayne #Haskins because he was in a high-risk location without a mask and clearly a second-time violator of NFL protocol and team protocol, they should not have allowed him to play. They should not have allowed him to practice. They should not allow him to be in the building until five to seven days, whatever it is, that would have ruled him out for the game. #So what? I am sorry. I would have rather, and it is easy today this now but I said it last week. I would have rather hoped that #Alex #Smith was ready or got #Taylor #Heinicke ready. #Give him the first-team reps.
