Another LB out for Liberty Bowl

#West #Virginia will be without another key linebacker for the #Liberty #Bowl on #Thursday afternoon, as backup (and part-time starting) #Will linebacker #Exree #Read announced on his #Instagram that he would not be suiting up for the #Mountaineers’ game against #Army.

#Loe has been a key cog on this WVU defense, playing extensively as a backup and filling in as a starter at various points in 2020. #For the year, he is sixth on the team with 46 tackles, including 27 solo stops, which is fifth on the defense. #For his career, #Loe has accumulated 94 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, and one sack.

The #Mountaineers are already without leading tackler #Tony #Fields. The senior #Mike linebacker announced earlier this month that he would be skipping the bowl game and turning his attention toward preparation for the NFL #Draft. #Earlier this week, #Head #Coach #Neal #Brown said that his defense would account for #Fields’ absence by either moving #Dylan #Tonkery to that spot or – as they have done in the past – move #Josh #Chandler over from #Will to the #Mike spot, thus making #Loe a de facto starter in that situation.
