Nurse tests positive for COVID-19 after receiving Pfizer vaccine


MEXICO CITY.- The nurse #Matthew W. 45-year-old from #San #Diego, #United #States, who received the #Pfizer vaccine, tested positive for #Covid a week later.

The nurse received the vaccine on #December 18, stating that the only effect it had was to have an irritated arm for a whole day. A week later, on #December 24, started with chills, fatigue, and muscle aches.

#After taking a test, he learned that he was positive for coronavirus.

#Christian #Ramers, an infectious disease specialist at #Family #Health #Centers in #San #Diego, told ABC #News that this possibility was not unexpected.

#We know from clinical trials of the vaccine that it will take 10 to 14 days to start developing protection with the vaccine, ”#Ramers said.

#We believe that that first dose gives you about 50% and you need a second dose to get to 95%, “he added.
