Alabama Sen. Richard Shelby says he didn’t like result but presidential election is over

#On the day when a #Republican senator announced he would challenge #Joe #Biden’s win in the presidential election, #Alabama #Sen. #Richard #Shelby indicated he would not, according to #Politico reporter #Jake #Sherman.

#It’s not the first time #Shelby has said it was time to accept the results of the #Nov. 3 election.

#Two weeks ago, the senator said in a statement to AL.com, “The #Electoral #College met earlier this week, which is our constitutional process for determining the result of the presidential election. The electors voted 306 for #Joe #Biden and 232 for #Donald #Trump, thereby making #Joe #Biden the official #President-elect. #While I wish it would have yielded a different outcome, it’s time to move on.”

#Missouri #Republican #Sen. #Josh #Hawley said today he will oppose certification of #Biden’s #Electoral #College victory when #Congress meets on #Jan. 6. #Hawley was the first senator to take that stance.

U.S. #Rep. #Mo #Brooks, R-Huntsville, has said he would challenge #Biden’s victory in the #House.
