The #Institute of #Social #Security and #Services for #Workers of the #State of #Sonora (#Isssteson), through its #Epidemiology department, reveals that post-Covid patients should continue to take care of themselves.
The #Department of #Preventive #Medicine, detailed that when a patient overcomes the virus, his body must initiate a recovery process, which can be slow on some occasions.
#Among the sequelae that occur are listed fatigue, shortness of breath when performing activities, cough, difficulty swallowing or speaking loudly, and even cardiovascular problems.
#Martín #Enrique Márquez Córdova, state epidemiologist at the #Institute, reported that the patient may also present muscle weakness, fatigue, poor mental clarity, emotional disturbances, post-traumatic stress, nightmares, anxiety and even depression.
“#It is important that every post-COVID patient is well received at home in the best way, since he was isolated, incommunicado and is already in recovery, that is why we ask his family to feel the love and comfort of returning home, but always applying health measures, “explained Márquez Córdova.
#He said that after discharge, the patient and his family must maintain a healthy distance at all times, use the mask, wash their hands frequently, since in this way the harmonious reestablishment of their body can be guaranteed and the person is prevented from in recovery suffer a relapse from the virus or other illnesses.
“The family must be aware that the patient’s immune system is weakened and that they represent a risk for the recovering relative, that is why we must follow all the rules of care,” said the #Isssteson specialist.

Márquez Córdova also recommended complying with certain breathing exercises to strengthen his lungs, following the medical indications to the letter and good nutrition based on vitamins A, C, D and E, as well as #Zinc and #Selenium.
