Bay Area hit with 2 earthquakes Thursday morning


The #San #Francisco #Bay #Area was hit with two separate earthquakes early #Thursday morning.

The #United #States #Geological #Survey reported a 2.6-magnitude earthquake near #San #Pablo at 1:44 a.m., followed by a larger 3.6-magnitude earthquake off the coast near #Muir #Beach at 5:45 a.m.

The #Muir #Beach quake was felt by some in both #San #Francisco and the #East #Bay.

#Enes #Kanter of the #Portland #Trail #Blazers is in #San #Francisco for his team’s two games against the #Golden #State #Warriors this week and had his sleep disturbed.


“#Woke up to an earthquake in #San #Francisco (exploding head emoji),” #Kanter tweeted. “2020 isn’t done with us yet! (facepalm emoji).”

“#Shaken awake by an earthquake is peak 2020,” wrote #Mother #Jones editor #Clara #Jeffery.

#According to the USGS, the #San #Pablo quake had a depth of four kilometers, while the #Muir #Beach quake had a depth of 14 kilometers.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
