“Happy to be here with the Ciudad Juárez Braves. Many thanks to the board for their trust, to the fans for their support and above all to the players ”, were the first words of the new Bravos coach at the airport on this border.

‘El Flaco’ Tena set foot on the border at approximately 1:45 in the afternoon on Sunday and everything is ready for his official presentation, which will be today after 12:30 in the afternoon.

“Suddenly these surprises arise in soccer and my response was immediate, ‘of course I am going, of course I accept,” said the Mexican strategist.

One of the reasons that motivated Tena to command the Braves was the squad of players that the Juarense squad has.

“I think it’s a good squad, that’s the first thing we coaches think about, what kind of players are there. I think interesting things can be done ”, declared the coach.

“The board has the idea, obviously, to strengthen the squad. You don’t need so many reinforcements, I think ”, mentioned Tena Garduño.

The ‘Flaco’ recalled his time as a player for the Cobras of Ciudad Juárez, which was in the final stretch of his career in 1988.

“I was here as a player 30 years ago, not many people were born so young in this city, but arriving with many expectations, with many illusions,” said Tena. “We can give people a lot of joy, that is what it is about,” he said.

For the FC Juárez coach, it was inevitable to mention the figure of the team, the Paraguayan attacker Darío Lezcano, who scored 10 goals in this Guard1anes 2020 and finished in third place in the individual scoring.

“Darío Lezcano was a revelation for everyone, he stood out on his own, he is a player with his own light,” said the ‘Flaco’ on the front.

Luis Fernando also spoke about Marco Fabián, Bravos midfielder who led in the Mexican Olympic Team that won gold in London 2021.

“I was lucky enough to direct Marco Fabián in the Pan-American Games (Guadalajara 2011), in Toulón, in the Olympic Games and in Cruz Azul, we won the ‘Concachampions’, and he is a player with a lot of quality”, he declared about the Guadalajara player.

The Bravos squad must report today to start the preseason for the 2021 Clausura.
