NEW YORK – Authorities are on the trail of two youths for allegedly setting fire to at least five school buses in Brooklyn, police said.
The first two incidents were reported on the night of November 1. In the first, the two suspects were seen approaching a school bus parked at the corner of Albany Avenue and Farragut Road. Later, both would have set fire and caused damage to the vehicle. In the second incident, about three hours later, around 11:00 pm, they approached another school bus parked at 4702 Avenue D and did the same vandalism.
The third and fourth events were reported on November 12. The first incident on this day occurred at 12:54 am at the corner of 779 East and 49th Street; the second, around 6:16, happened at 1001 45th Street. In both cases, two school buses were set on fire.
The last reported incident so far occurred on November 19 in front of building 4410 on D Avenue where the suspects set fire to another school bus.
In none of the incidents were people injured.
Both subjects are described between their 18 and 20 years. The first subject was last seen wearing black clothes and a purple cap, the second suspect was last seen wearing gray clothes and white sneakers.
