Aldi PC and Aldi Notebooks: Everyday computers meet the gaming machine

Because Aldi now has new technology offers on its shelves in its north and south branches, you can buy three computers in addition to the Samsung Galaxy A10, a 4K TV for less than 300 euros or the PlayStation 4. With it is a multimedia PC in the middle class. But two notebooks are also available for purchase. One of them is particularly interesting for gamers. But one after the other.

Aldi PC: Medion Akoya E62009 MEDION AKOYA E62009

Based on Windows 10, Aldi now offers the Medion Akoya E62009 multimedia PC. Everything about this machine is geared towards the mass market. The PC is equally interesting for your work in the home office, but can also be a sensible investment for your small business. Because it costs 499 euros, but offers rock solid equipment for this price.

For example, you can access a decent 16 GB of RAM and trust a drive via an Intel Core i5 processor (9400) with six CPU cores (maximum 2.66 GHz). For everyday tasks you get hardware that shouldn’t let you down so quickly. Even a USB-C port with display port technology is not missing.

Downside of the coin: The integrated graphics unit (Intel UHD Graphics 630) is less potent. With current games, you should consider retrofitting in the form of a separate graphics card. But then there could again be bottlenecks in processor performance. Because for a smooth graphics you should rather choose a more powerful processor.

Other features of the 500 Euro Aldi PC include a 512 GB SSD storage, a card reader for your SD cards, a DVD and CD burner and a Bluetooth 5.0 interface. Optical USB mouse and keyboard are included. You have to buy a monitor separately.

Aldi Notebook Medion Akoya P15648MEDION AKOYA P15648

Should it be a mid-range notebook with Windows 10 Home instead of a mid-range PC? Then Aldi Nord and Aldi Sud offer you the matching counterpart with the Medion Akoya P15648 for 799 euros. But only through the online shop with free delivery to your home.

The approximately 1.8 kg light notebook with aluminum housing is powered by the Intel Core i7 (10510U) quad-core with a clock rate of up to 1.9 GHz and 16 GB RAM. 1 TB of SSD storage is available for your personal data. The webcam does not sit above the 15.6 inch Full HD display in the frame, but directly above the keyboard. In video conferences, this is associated with a perspective that takes some getting used to.

The options available to you with regard to the connections can be summarized as lush. Three USB 3.1 ports and one USB 2.0 port are an announcement for this price range. There are also a headset and an HDMI connection.

Similar to the PC range, the graphics chip on this notebook is the Achilles’ verse. The Medion notebook is well positioned for everyday tasks, but the performance of the Nvidia GeForce MX250 is only enough for the entry-level class. So if you want to gamble regularly with your notebook, you should rather buy another portable computer.

Aldi gaming notebook: Medion Erazer X17805

For example, the third computer, which is now also exclusively available through the Aldi web shop: the gaming notebook Medion Erazer X17805. It offers plenty of performance based on Windows 10 Home, but it also costs less cheap 1,999 euros.

Thanks to turbo boost technology, even 4.5 GHz is possible for short-term computing tasks. A whopping 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of SSD storage and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 graphics processor ensure that you can experience a smooth gaming experience even with the most modern games.

The display of the 2.6 kilogram gaming notebook is 17.3 inches tall, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a Full HD resolution are part of the equipment. In addition to a subwoofer, two speakers with Dolby Atmos gaming certification are installed for good sound. Connections? Also abundant in this laptop: 1 x USB 3.1 Type C, 2 x USB 3.1 Type A, 1 x USB 2.0 Type A, 1 x HDMI, 2 x Mini-DisplayPort. And of course you don’t have to do without a LAN connection. The next LAN party with your best friends can come – but only after the corona crisis. Better to bet on online gaming in the coming days.

Incidentally, all three Aldi computers come with a three-year manufacturer’s guarantee.
