“It is going up slowly but surely,” says Pierre Thepot, the director of the Littoral Atlantique hospital group, which brings together the hospitals of La Rochelle and Rochefort. The group should welcome “one or two patients” from the Paris region in the coming days, to relieve hospitals in the capital. Caregivers from the department, an anesthesiologist and two nurse anesthetists from Rochefort, and two emergency doctors from La Rochelle will also go to reinforce in the Grand Est.

“All the agents wear a mask”
Six people, among the staff of the Atlantic Coast group, were also contaminated by Covid-19 “outside” of their establishment. “All the agents are wearing a mask. We received a delivery this afternoon (Thursday), which gives us stock for ten days,” said Pierre Thepot, stressing that the epidemic had no consequences in the Ehpad (Accommodation facilities for dependent elderly) of the public hospital, where nursing students have been deployed.
Finally, patients at the Marius-Lacroix psychiatric hospital who are followed outside, some of whom are in therapeutic apartments, continue to be treated, by telephone or by home visits. Vigils were also called to prevent visits to the interior of the hospital.
