French football has offered itself the beginning of a crisis in the midst of a coronavirus epidemic. The constitution of a steering committee with the presidents of PSG, OM, OL and Saint-Etienne (Caïazzo being the president of Premier League), Noël Le Graët (FFF), Didier Quillot (director general of the LFP) and Claude Michy (president of the UCPF) angered the other forgotten clubs.
But also of Nathalie Boy De La Tour, president of the LFP, absent from this “selection” constituted to lead an action plan for the resumption of the championships at the end of the epidemic of Covid-19. The latter took over by putting an end to the steering committee.
“They wanted to create a parallel steering committee”
Claude Michy, for his part, refused to participate in this steering committee. In an interview with La Montagne, he explained the reasons for his choice. “During a collective conference call in which all the clubs of L1 and L2 participated as well as the leaders of the LFP, it was agreed to create a committee with the constitution of working groups on the social, the recovery hypotheses and the Cash, he explains. But Bernard Caïazzo with others wanted to create a parallel steering committee. In the end, we ended up with the three big clubs of L1, PSG, Marseille and Lyon as well as Saint-Etienne and myself as the UCPF. (…) I therefore decided not to participate in this committee because it was not representative. ”
The Auvergne leader calls for restraint in the face of the succession of controversies emanating from the leaders of French football, such as Jean-Michel Aulas and Jacques-Henri Eyraud, who clung to the media on the theme of the “white season”.
“It is indecent, thunder Michy. God knows if it is intelligent and respectable people who have accomplished fantastic things. But in these times, there cannot be privileged. And those who are privileged must be as much more in the service of others. Today the priority is the health of the world then the respect of the instructions. The sport is incidental. It was besides one of the points of divergence with some. ethical rules to respect and a certain moral to have too. ”
