The corona virus paralyzes live sports. That is why SRF shows legendary moments of national and international sport instead of originally planned live broadcasts. At the start of the series on Thursday, March 26, 2020, the decisive final game of the ice hockey playoffs 2009 is on the program.

Worldwide, the corona virus brings sports to a standstill. For this reason, SRF opens its sports archive – and lets sports fans immerse themselves in legendary moments of national and international sport at home. The highlights of past years are supposed to revive the sporting emotions and provide a little distraction in the corona crisis.

The fans chose: Kloten Flyers against HC Davos from 2009

There will be no master in Swiss ice hockey in 2020. On the SRF Sport Facebook page, the users were able to vote which master game of previous years they would like to see again. Over 12,000 sports fans cast their votes. Game 7 of the 2009 playoff final series was chosen between Kloten Flyers and HC Davos.

Swiss radio and television shows the recording of the game on Thursday, March 26, at 8:10 p.m. on SRF two in full length and with original commentary by Stefan Burer. In addition, HCD icon Reto von Arx speaks during the broadcast about his memories of the legendary moments in spring 2009.

Unforgettable moments from national football

In addition to highlights of Swiss ice hockey history, unforgettable moments from national football are also on the program. On Sunday, April 5, SRF will offer an alternative to the usual live game from the Super League, which will be suspended until further notice.

At 4:00 p.m. on SRF two, Dani Kern (original comment) lets the fans dive once again into the memorable Finalissima of the 2005/06 season between FC Basel and FC Zurich.

Top class: Swiss moments of glory and international hits

The UEFA Champions League is also paused. On the originally planned live dates of the coming weeks, recordings of the largest Champions League games in the past two decades are planned.

Swiss highlights and international delicacies from the premier class are programmed. The kick-off on Wednesday, April 8, is the final of the 2004/05 season between AC Milan and Liverpool – at 8:10 p.m. on SRF two with original commentary by Dani Wyler.
