Madrid, Nov. 10 (EFE) .- El Cadiz put his solid leadership in Vallecas to the test against another aspiring ascent, Rayo, which he dominated for much of the game ahead of the scoreboard with a goal by Ivan Alejo that was neutralized by Argentine Oscar Trejo in the second half.
The Andalusian team arrived in Vallecas as an intractable leader and left the Madrid stadium with a point and reinforced emotionally before one of the rivals they have most in mind for the promotion to Primera, as both coach Alvaro Cervera and some soccer players declared during the previous week of the Cadiz picture.
El Rayo, after the two consecutive defeats against Ponferradina and Lugo, was obliged to win so as not to lose the wake of the direct ascent, but the image he showed before his people was well below expectations, especially in the first part, in which he demonstrated a predictable game and lacked depth.
The Cadiz was ahead on the scoreboard at 38 minutes when he braided a good offensive play that failed to defend the Lightning well with an offside so high that the VAR had to intervene. Nano Mesa received from Espino a ball to the race on the left side, faced the rival area and upon Dimitrievski's departure he yielded to his right Ivan Alejo, who only had to push the ball.
That goal was a blow for the Lightning, which during the seven minutes of play until the break seemed a team sunk on the grass, although he had a much more possession percentage than his rival.
In the second half, Lightning hit the grass with another air. Paco Jemez introduced a tactical variant taking the left-back Antonio Luna and putting forward Andres Martin on the field.
The change was good for the Madrid team that began to approach the area of Cifuentes with danger, which saved Cadiz in 68 minutes with a shot from Trejo from the penalty spot after a center by Alvaro Garcia.
Five minutes later, the Argentine forward received a ball inside the area, got away from two defenders at half-turn and launched a cross shot that he played in Espino before getting into the goal of Cadiz.
The Cadiz team showed their ambition attacking in search of the second goal, which could come with a header from Honduran Antony 'Choco' Lozano who caught Dimitrievski in the goal line.
With the draw, Cadiz has 35 points, nine above the second, Huesca, while Rayo, with 20, remains in the twelfth place in the standings.
