Alvaro Morata and Atletico settle on the podium thanks to their success against Espanyol

The 13th day of Liga offered us an interesting poster this Sunday afternoon. At Wanda Metropolitano, Atletico de Madrid (4th, 21 points) hosted Espanyol (19th, 8). If the Colchoneros wanted to prevail to settle in the third place of this championship of Spain, the Pericos wished for their part to move away from the place of red lantern. But Diego Simeone's side won the match 2-1. The meeting had started badly for the local since Darder, served at the entrance of the surface by Sanchez, opened the score for the Catalan club (38th).

The Colchoneros still came back before the break. On a nice service Morata, Correa equalized head (45th + 1, 1-1). Passing in the first period, Morata then turned into scorer for the goal of 2-1 (58th). Author of a great performance, the Spanish center forward was even applauded by his audience at its release (replaced by Costa, 80th). At the end of the match, Koke put his team under cover (90 + 2, 3-1). Atletico prevailed and settled on the podium. Espanyol remained nineteenth in this league.
