He wanted to celebrate the lifting of his custody. Pete Doherty was again arrested on Sunday after fighting drunk in a bar in the district of Saint-Germain-des-Pres (Paris), the Parisian learned from concordant sources, confirming information from the Point .
He was "placed in custody for violence by person in a state of drunkenness," says the Paris prosecutor. He is currently at the police station of the fifth arrondissement of the capital.
According to the account of Arash Derambarsh, his lawyer joined by Le Parisien, the facts took place late, on the night of Saturday to Sunday. After leaving his council, on his release from custody for cocaine possession on Saturday night, Pete Doherty returned to his Paris home and absorbed sleeping pills. But the drugs did not put him to sleep.
The British rocker would then be out of his house, in pajamas, to "go celebrate his release in a nearby bar," says his lawyer. "He drank and we made him drink," he said.
"A drunken fight"
Very late in the evening, the tone went up between Pete Doherty, intoxicated, and a young man, 19, who quickly came to blows.
The latter has filed a complaint for violence against the English singer. "No ITT (total incapacity for work) has been prescribed, it's a drunken brawl," said Arash Derambarsh.
Saturday night, Pete Doherty had been released after nearly 48 hours in custody, for buying cocaine in the street, in the lively Pigalle (IXth arrondissement of Paris). He was the subject of a criminal order for the use of narcotics, a simplified judicial procedure, with requisitions of a fine of 5000 euros. A sentence which must however be approved by a judge of the Paris court.
The singer, who is at the beginning of a long tour in Europe and mainly in Britain, "committed to being followed full-time by an addictologist and a doctor so as not to fall back into temptation", according to his lawyer.
Pete Doherty, also known as former model Kate Moss's boyfriend, has repeatedly made headlines for her drug-related excesses.
