Cuban teams win ICPC 2019 Caribbean Final

Santiago de Cuba, Nov. 10 After four intense days of activities and five hours of competition and with the participation of 25 teams from eleven Cuban universities, the winning teams of the 2019 Caribbean Programming Final, ICPC, met for their acronym in English.

The competition was based in Cuba at the Universidad de Oriente and the awards ceremony was attended by Lazaro Exposito Canto, first secretary of the Party in the province and Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, vice president of the State Council and president of the Assembly of People's Power in Santiago de Cuba.

Thirteen very complex exercises tried to solve the teams participating in the Caribbean Final of ICPC programming, 2019.

The contest was held in a synchronized manner at the Cuban headquarters, the Universidad de Oriente and at the Pontifical Mother and Teacher University of the Dominican Republic.

It is an academic competence that requires skills in programming, mathematics, English language proficiency and teamwork.

After five hours in the search for the correct algorithms to solve the problems, the contest came to an end.

It was following a table of positions in real time and in unison throughout the Caribbean and Latin America that the positions of the participating teams were known.

The UH ++ team, from the University of Havana, was second in the Caribbean championships and classified directly to the World Cup Russia 2020. The second place was obtained by the Limitles team from the University of the East and third place was the Wake me up team, from the University of Havana.

In June 2020, the 44th edition of the World Championship in Russia will be held. For 10 years Cuba has always had contestants in the World Cups and the challenge continues to improve the Cuban position in those competitions.
