Novak Djokovic (ATP 2) started his Masters with a clear victory this Sunday in London. The Serbian, the winner of this five-time end-of-season tournament, defeated Italian Matteo Berrettini (ATP 8) in two sets, 6-2, 6-1, in the opening match of BjOrn Borg.

After a balanced start (2-2), Novak Djokovic took advantage of too many unforced errors by Berrettini, 17 on the set, to line up four games and pocket the first set (6-2).

The 23-year-old Romain, who was taking his first steps at the Masters, was not able to turn the tide in the second run. Nole, recent winner of the Masters 1000 Paris-Bercy, has taken three times the service of Berrettini in this set, winning after 63 minutes of play.

this Sunday night, the Swiss Roger Federer (ATP 3) will face the Austrian Dominic Thiem (ATP 5) in the second match of the group Borg.

On Monday night, Spanish N.1 world Rafael Nadal, still looking for his first Masters title, will challenge Germany's Alexander Zverev (ATP 7), the title holder. Winner of Roland-Garros and the US Open this year, Rafa arrived diminished in the English capital, victim of a small tear to an abdominal muscle. He also had to withdraw before his semi-finals of the Masters 1000 Paris-Bercy early November. Nadal and Djokovic vie for the No. 1 spot this week in London.

Monday afternoon, the first game of the group Andre Agassi will see the Russian Daniil Medvedev (ATP 4) face the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 6) in a duel of beginners.
