FIHAV 2019 concludes in Havana with awards ceremony

Havana, Nov. 9— In the presence of Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, vice president of the Council of Ministers, and other members of this executive body, concluded in this capital the International Fair of Havana, FIHAV 2019, at which time the awards of the appointment were delivered.

Four juries composed of leading experts granted the awards based on evaluations of the quality, design and visual communication of the products, as well as the structures of the stands.

Of 77 applications, 35 of Cuban exhibitors, won the Gold Medal for Quality 19 products from countries such as Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, China and Portugal.

In the case of Cuba, the super multi 25 W-60 oil from the Cuban Lubricants Company (CUBALUB) deserved recognition in the Machinery and Transportation category; in Light and Chemical Industry, the Marabou charcoal, from the exhibitor Agro-industrial company Ceballos; and the perfume D Habana, by Suchel Camacho S.A.

In the category of Food industry, beverages and tobacco, the Cohiba Maestro, from Brascuba Cigarrillos S.A, received the distinction for the Island; el Trinidad humidor 50 Aniversario, by the exhibitor Habanos S.A .; the Nectar Tropical, of La Estancia S.A .; Polifloral honey from the Cuban Beekeeping Company; Havana Club 1519 rum, from Havana Club International S.A .; and Altoserra green coffee beans, from the Agroforestry Business Group.

For the Design Award, 83 applications were received, 50 of them from national exhibitors, and 15 awards were granted, in three categories, and were grouped in six countries.

Cuba rose in the category of Habitat and Appliances with the collection of Cuban Creole guayaberas; and in visual communication with the communication campaign design of Ciego Montero Habana 500 and Brinda por tu Habana, de Cuba Ron S.A.

In addition, Havana Club Cuban Smoky rum, the packaging system for pre-flour mixtures of the Industrial Molinera de La Habana (IMSA), the Premium line of the Vacilon Rum, the visual identity system of the Placental Histotherapy Center, and the perfume D Habana.

The Social Communication Award was obtained, among others, by CINESOFT for the audiovisual Havana 500, and the website of Havana Club International S.A, a company that also received the Grand Prize for Integral Communication.

On behalf of the authorities of the province, Havana Club International SA also received the Havana Special 500 Award for raising the name of the city to the top of productive excellence, representing the cosmopolitan spirit throughout the world through exquisite spirits, as well as create rum 1519.

The organizing committee of FIHAV recognized for its outstanding participation in the commercial stock exchange to United Arab Emirates; for its presence as a regional bloc, to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM); and for being the most represented country, to Spain.

For the first time a distinction was given for the contribution to sustainability to two products (both Italian): the ecological brick of Zeo Brick and the machinery of the agricultural industry of the Turetti Group.

The Cuban companies had primacy in the stands of Stand Design, while in the case of the pavilions, Vietnam and Portugal received mentions and that of Venezuela was the best in this category.

The Havana International Fair was held from November 4 to 8 at the Expocuba fairgrounds, in this capital, with the participation of some 60 countries. (Jeniffer Rodiguez Martino)
