Taison, the Brazilian player and captain of Shakhtar Donetsk, received a red card Sunday for sending a ball in the stands to "supporters" Dynamo Kiev sent him racist cries. He left the fallen lawn, in tears.
The 31-year-old Shakhtar captain, whom he joined in 2013, left the field in tears, comforted by players from Dynamo Kiev. Another Brazilian from the Donetsk club, Dentinho, also cried, according to the pictures. The two teams have, for a time, left the field before resuming, without Taison, the match, won by the Donetsk club (1-0).
"Racism is a shame. Together we have to fight it every day, every minute and every second", responded Shakhtar Donetsk's Portuguese coach Luis Castro, who lent his support to his players.
"FC Shakhtar categorically opposes any form of racism", added the three-time Ukrainian championship club on its website."Football is not a question of racism", simply reacted Dynamo Kiev on Twitter.
