France dominates the Elche International Tournament


Elche (Alicante,), Nov 10 (EFE) .- The teams of France, both men and women, have been proclaimed winners of the International Rugby Tournament 7 which has been played at the Diez Iborra stadium of the Sports City of Elche during the weekend.

The French team has exceeded in both cases in the grand final of the tournament to the respective teams of Ireland, runner-up in the two categories.

In the men's team, the gala team has clearly imposed on the final Irish team by (24-5) in a match that has barely had a history before the clear French superiority.

The ‘lions of Spain stayed at the gates of the final after losing to Ireland (7-21). The Spanish team, in a match that was decided on the last play, lost the consolation final against Scotland (15-17).

In women, the selection of France was the great dominator in the group stage and in the qualifiers. The French team knew how to overcome a bad start and beat Ireland in the final (26-19).

Spain was in sixth place after losing to Belgium (7-19) the match for fifth place.
