Havana, Nov 10 (ACN) Cuban weightlifter Melisa Aguilera finished fifth in the 76 kilogram (kg) division at the Grand Prix of Lima, capital of Peru, in a tournament that awards points for the Olympic qualification to Tokyo 2020
Aguilera lifted 93 kg in the last attempt at start, after failing the first and achieving the second, both with 90 kg, according to the results table of the International Weightlifting Federation.
In the shipment, the Cuban dominated 114 and 119 kg, but in the closure she could not with 121 kg, thus she finished fifth at start (93 kg), in shipping (119 kg) and in the total with 212 kg.
The title went to the Colombian Leidy Solis (106,145 and 251 kg), while the American Shacasia Johnson won the silver medal with 107,134 and 241 kg and the Mexican Aremi Fuentes, the bronze with 105, 131 and 236 kg.
The category was developed with seven athletes, in the Eduardo Dibos Coliseum, in a competition with more than 100 of the best weightlifters in the world, according to the Peruvian Sports Federation of Weightlifting in its digital portal.
