Gladbach has extended the lead at the top of the table to four points. In a 3-1 win against Bremen showed the Borussia once again their strong form and set by a double strike the course for victory. Werder did very well, but missed too many chances – including a penalty – to take something away from the foals.

Gladbach coach Marco Rose made four changes after beating AS Roma 2-1 in the Europa League: Bensebaini, Kramer, Herrmann and recovering Plea started for Jantschke (hamstring hamstring), Wendt, Neuhaus and Stindl (all three).

Bremen coach Florian Kohfeldt, on the other hand, actually trusted the same starting line-up, who played 2-2 against Freiburg last time. But then the coach had to change at short notice, because Toprak fell out with muscular problems in the calf, he was replaced by Langkamp.

The game started immediately, both teams played forward. Thuram missed a great chance from close range, but the flag of the liner went up (1.). That was very close, a possible hit would have been checked. On Bremen side Rashica radiated danger, he failed summer (3rd) and drew a free kick just past (15).

Gladbach's double strike

The Borussia were the more active team, however – and rewarded themselves in the 20th minute: Benes' free-kick landed at Bensebaini, who rose highest and headed back. The Werderaner conceded again a goal after a standard. And the foals immediately followed suit: Ginters long ball landed at Thuram, SVW keeper Pavlenka rushed out without timing and cleared the attacker. But the Frenchman put the leather before his head on Herrmann, who lifted it into the empty net (22).

Bremen's goal does not count

The North Germans were briefly shocked, but found their way back into play after a few minutes. Rashica prevailed robustly against Zakaria and served in the penalty area Osako, who met for the alleged connection. But referee Tobias Stieler looked at the scene again and recognized the hit, he evaluated the entry of Rashica against Zakaria as a foul. But the SVW stayed tuned, Rashica, the best Bremer in half one, drew wafer-thin (32.). On the opposite side Gladbach quickly switched after a ball win, Bensebaini hit the crossbar. The Gladbacher could then thank Keeper Sommer that it went with the 2: 0 in the cabin: The keeper parried against Rashica (41) and Maxi Eggestein (43) first-class.

Klaassen fails from the point – Herrmann meets

The second round started with a familiar picture, Rashica failed in the summer (48th). Then the huge chance for Bremen to connect, Bensebaini Osako rose in the box on the foot, Stieler gave the view of the video penalty. Klaassen took responsibility – and failed on the excellent summer (53rd). The Borussia remained dangerous, Plea just barely passed (54) and Thuram failed to Pavlenka (56). In the 59th minute it was time and the Bremen were punished for their missed chances: Friedl was too passive against Herrmann and counterfeited in the end the shot of Gladbachers still – 3: 0!

Bittencourt sets the final point

Afterwards, the air was a bit out of the game, although both teams continued attacking pin-pricks. The best Gladbach chance missed Plea, he failed at Pavlenka (80). The foals had to finish ten at the end because Bensebaini saw the traffic light card (87.). The final point of the encounter then Bittencourt, who met with the help of the left inner post to 1: 3 (90 + 3). The foals extended the lead in the championship by three to four points, Bremen could not win in the seventh game in series (0/5/2).
