Manfred Schmid takes over the 1st FC Cologne interim – 12termann

After the immediate dismissal of Cologne head coach Achim Beierlorzer, takes over Manfred Schmid together with Andre Pawlek interim the supervision of the team.

Beierlorzer was only committed in the summer and equipped with a contract until 2021. But after eight defeats from eleven league games, they separated from the 51-year-olds. "We are now working to find a new head coach for the FC, who with our team will make a fresh start and turn things around. Until then, the team is in good hands with Andre Pawlak and Manfred Schmid, "commented Frank Aehlig, sporting director of FC, the decision.

Schmid joined Peter StOger from Vienna Austria in 2013 and worked as a co-trainer at the KOlner and then in Dortmund. In early 2019, he returned to the FC as Chief Scout.
