The lack of matches it cost Duarte his presence in the National Team for the matches against Curacao and Haiti on November 14 and 17 by the League of Nations. The defender started in October in both commitments.

Ronald Gonzalez was consistent with his words that he who does not play will not be in the National. It happened to Bryan Ruiz and now to Duarte.

Since then, the Spanish team has had 5 games; in three of them Duarte stayed on the bench and In two more he was not summoned.

In total the Costa Rican has played 3 games; In addition to those 6 minutes against Leganes, he performed against Real Madrid and against Betis, both games in September. It's 164 minutes on the court.
