A beluga played rugby with the team of South African research ship Gemini Craft at the North Pole, swimming to retrieve the ball and bring it back to his new teammates.

While crossing the Arctic Ocean, the team of the South African research building Gemini Craft took the opportunity to play with a beluga passing in front of her. This unique game of sea rugby was filmed by one of the sailors, Alon Kowen.

Despite the liquid pitch and unusual players, the game went well: the researchers threw a rugby ball and the cetacean would pick it up to give it back.

"This beluga is celebrating the victory of the Antelopes," joked Kowen, referring to the South African team's victory at the Rugby World Cup in early November.
