November 9, 2019, 10:40San Jose, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) President Carlos Alvarado's visit to the North Zone and Eva's femicide turned into almost unanimous rejection of violence against women in Costa Rica during the week ending today.
He said that in the next three years, the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) will invest 956 thousand 638 million colones nationwide – some $ 700 million – in infrastructure and equipment, which includes the construction of at least 50 headquarters Ebais, 34 health areas and the hospitals of Turrialba, Puntarenas and Cartago.
'The objective is to respond to the needs posed by the communities and close gaps in health facilities. At the same time, the revitalization of the economy and the generation of labor sources in the different territories are promoted, 'he said.
Subsequently, Alvarado attended the inauguration of Ebais Cedral – Dulce Nombre, built in the health area of Ciudad Quesada, where eight thousand 500 people will find humanized attention in very wide and safe internal and external spaces.
Finally, the tico president moved to Pavon, where he gave the community an elevated water storage tank, a rural work that will favor about 750 families directly and another 3 thousand 200 indirectly, who can improve their quality of life and make investments in both commerce and tourism that increases every day in the area.
On the other hand, the femicide of Eva, a 19-year-old girl, at the hands of her sentimental partner, set off the alarms of the Costa Rican authorities, where they seek to end the causes that cause those unfortunate events.
On Friday of the previous week Eva Morera became the eleven fatal victim of femicide so far this year in this Central American nation, a figure that although it is less than 26 last year, continues to worry the authorities, who present campaigns and spots to end violence against women.
Eva's case took notice in this country, where there have been multiple signs of repudiation of behaviors, mainly the still existing machismo, which lead husbands, partners or ex-partners to end the life of a person to whom they are linked or it was for sentimental ties.
