Haiti: Opposition agrees to form interim government
Port-au-Prince, Nov 10 (RHC) In a possible resignation of Haitian President Jovenel Moises, the transitional government will be headed by a Cassation judge, as agreed by several opposition branches.
After two days of debate in Port-au-Prince, the Haitian capital, the proposal of the Consensus Alternative for the Refoundation of Haiti was imposed, a platform that has driven recent demonstrations in the streets.
The interim president, whose name will be known shortly, according to these structures, will be accompanied by a prime minister of the opposition.
Participants signed a document that, among other topics, proposes the preparation and voting of a new constitution, review of the electoral machinery, effective and responsible modern diplomacy, organization of all trials, including the embezzlement of public funds, and the Holding a National Conference.
Similarly, they condemned the violence of the Police against the demonstrators leading the anti-government protests, and called for the release of all political prisoners. (Source: PL)
