The Real Madrid boss took Rodrygo Goes out of the starting line-up after his Champions League heroics and opted for Lucas Vazquez instead.
The Spaniard had struggled to get back into the side after missing three matches through injury in October mainly due to Rodrygo‘s form.
He was left on the bench against Leganes, left out all together against Real Betis and was an unused substitute against Galatasaray.
This changed at Ipurua. Vazquez came back into the team and made a positive impact, winning Real Madrid‘s first penalty.
Vazquez provided the perfect balance from the right wing to Eden Hazard‘s dazzling display on the other side.
He’s Zidane‘s go-to player in LaLiga Santander, playing more league matches (97) than anyone else under the Frenchman.
