S-Bahn Munich: Balloon triggers major disruption on the trunk line

The rapid-transit railways of the lines S 1, S 2, S 3, S 6 and S 7 run again on the Regelweg. The remaining lines are as follows:

S 4 Geltendorf: The S-Bahn trains start / end at the Munich central station, track 27-36. Halt Hackerbrucke is eliminated.

S 8 Herrsching – Airport: The suburban trains are diverted between Pasing and Ostbahnhof (long-distance train) and the Stammstrecke will not be started. The Halt Leuchtenbergring deleted.

Trigger for the impairments was apparently again a balloonwho got stuck in the underground station. A similar mishap had already stopped traffic on the trunk line in the past.

First report from November 10, 3:30 pm:

Munich – On Sunday afternoon at 15 clock hit the Deutsche Bahn alarm: "Due to a catenary disturbance on Marienplatz it depends on the Stammstrecke about impairments ", was about the Train-Ticker communicated.

Trains would now be held back at the stations, it said in the first incident report. At 15.30 followed by an update that commuters should not have pleased: "The trunk line is between Hackerbrucke and Munich East blocked."

As a result of the impairments, the lines of the Munich S-Bahn initially run as follows:

S-Bahn Munich: Mainline blocked – these diversions are currently valid

S 1 Freising / Airport: The suburban trains start / end in Moosach. Alternatively, use the underground lines U 2 Feldmoching or U 3 Moosach and change accordingly.

S 2 Petershausen / Altomunster – Erding: The suburban trains are diverted between Obermenzing and Ostbahnhof (main line) and the main line is not approached. The Halte Leuchtenbergring and Berg am Laim accounted for.

S 3 Mammendorf: The suburban trains start / end in Pasing.

S 3 wooden churches: The suburban trains start / end in Munich East. Alternatively, you can take the subway line U 5.

S 4 Geltendorf: The S-Bahn trains start / end at the Munich central station, track 27-36. Halt Hackerbrucke is eliminated.

S 6 Tutzing: The S-Bahn trains start / end at the Hackerbrucke.

S 6 Ebersberg: The suburban trains start / end in Munich East. Alternatively, you can take the subway line U 5.

S 7 Wolfratshausen: The S-Bahn trains start / end at the Munich central station, track 27-36. Halt Hackerbrucke is eliminated.

S 7 Kreuzstrabe: The rapid-transit railways begin / end in Giesing. Alternatively, you can take the subway line U 2.

S 8 Herrsching – Airport: The S-Bahn trains are diverted between Pasing and Ostbahnhof (main line) and the main line is not approached. The Halt Leuchtenbergring deleted.

Already on Thursday (7 November) there had been serious problems with the S-Bahn Munich. Water had paralyzed the operation.
